Ogun State governor Dapo Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has vowed to tackle insecurity in the state to attract investors.

Abiodun gave this commitment, yesterday, during the 40th anniversary/thanksgiving and Pillars of Development Award service held at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Sagamu, Diocese of Remo, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), with the theme: “For this God is Our God For Ever and Ever.”

Abiodun, who commended the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and Bishop of Remo Diocese, The Most Rev’d. Olusina Fape, for a lot of achievements made not only in the church but also in the state, lauded him for linking the government with the grassroots for them to enjoy the dividends of democracy, saying that previous efforts in the past in that direction proved abortive.

The governor, who was represented at the occasion by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, also appreciated the Diocese on behalf of other awardees for counting them worthy of the honour.

Fape, while commending Abiodun for his initiative to frontally tackle insecurity in the state, said that not only would the step encourage investors, but the latter would have the assurance that their investment would not be under any threat.

The Archbishop, who described the occasion to honour sons and daughters of Remo for their tremendous contribution to the growth of the diocese, said the awardees in the Eminent Personality category were led by the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, while the Meritorious Award category was led by the Bishop of the Diocese of Ilesha (rtd.), The Rt. Rev. Olubayo Sowale.

Fape expressed assurance that the Remo Diocese would continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
