Agboyi monarch not involved in fraudulent land transactions –Palace

Oladega

The Palace of the OluAgboyi,AgboyiKetu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, has distanced its monarch, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, from the fraudulent sales of land.

A section of the media had reported that Oba Oladega and others were listed as defendants in the land sales dispute bordering on forgery, conspiracy, and obtaining by trick.

But a statement by a palace official, Prince Muhideen Yusuf, said the king was not arraigned for involvement in any unlawful land transaction.
He said: “The palace hereby states categorically that at no time did Oba MonsuruAbimbolaOladega have any transaction or collect a dime from the accuser nor was the king arraigned.

“Also, Chief RazakAlayakiSeriki, Chief AbubakarSeriki and Chief (Mrs) JemilatuBusari all equally do not know the land transaction,” the statement read in part.

The palace discountenanced the reports and urged the public to disregard what it termed “the defamatory news item intentionally made to mislead the public.”

It explained that Oladega, who the litigant accused, alongside others, of alleged fraudulent sale of land to him in 2014, only assumed the reigns of Agboyi Kingdom in 2020.

Oladega was sworn in by Lagos StateGovernor, BabajideSanwo-Olu in 2020, six years after the purported transaction.
