Akuluno United Brothers holds inaugural meeting in Akwa Ibom



Unveils accelerated economic development plans for Southeast

The historical predisposition or proclivity of the Igbos to stimulate, develop and advance the economy of their region and the entire nation, is an entrepreneurial skill which they are naturally endowed with by God. Arguably, the sustainable Igbo entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and determination is the engine room that has continued to oil the economic lubricant of Nigeria’s corporate existence and survival over the decades.


Akuluno United Brothers’ Association, one of the leading pan- Igbo socio- cultural organisations with a focus on the South Eastern part of Nigeria whose main objective is to propel the advancement and development of the local economy by bringing back home wealth creation and job opportunities through sustainable business establishments.

The Billionaires’ Club, Akuluno United Brothers’ Association, led by a serial entrepreneur and uncommon philanthropist, Chief Mike Ejiogu (Onuowu of Anara Ancient Kingdom), boasts in its membership list high profile business maverick, captains of industries, successful entrepreneurs and established names in the production and manufacturing- supply chain, who have come together not only to expand their business network, demonstrate avowed solidarity to members, but also to bring back home the wealth God has richly blessed them with while improving the welfare of their various communities through job creations.

The grand arrival of the President of Akuluno United Brothers’ Association, High Chief Mike Ejiogu, on Friday, May 9, 2024, alongside members of his executive at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, Akwaibom State, set the motion in place for the Saturday’s inaugural meeting and induction of members of this highly esteemed social club that has shown capacity in organising, galvanising, and mobilising men and resources towards the economic resurgence and development of the South Eastern part of Nigeria: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states.

During his inaugural speech, the President of Akuluno United Brothers’ Association, High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu, Traditional Prime Minister of Anara Ancient Kingdom, urged the newly inducted members to always be good ambassadors of Igboland in particular, and Nigeria in general, by conducting themselves in ways that exemplify leadership and true Igboness, while respecting the extant rules and regulations governing the organisation as enshrined in their constitution.

According to Chief Mike Ejiogu, Akuluno United Brothers’ Association, is a pan- Igbo elitist social club of Nigerian industrialists and successful entrepreneurs from the South Eastern region with proven records of impeccable integrity, respect for family values, love for Igbo culture and tradition, successful business trajectory, leadership in boardroom strategy, philanthropy, and selfless community service, who have come together to advance their membership good cause, exploring and exploiting opportunities while patronising themselves in the Igbo spirit of “Nwanne mara nwanne ya, and Onye ahala nwanne ya”.


The Saturday inaugural meeting which took place at the most serene, peaceful, and friendly ambience of the luxury Four- Point by Sheraton Hotels, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State; started with a mandatory morning exercise, brainstorming session, eating and drinking together in the Igbo spirit of: ” Nwanne mara nwanne ya.”

With the introduction of the founding members and induction, the leadership of Akuluno United Brothers’ Association under High Chief Mike Ejiogu (Onuowu of Anara Ancient Kingdom), in his capacity as the President, presented a proposed blueprint of intervention areas for the empowerment and development of ala – Igbo which included but not limited to; award of scholarships in vocational skills acquisition, information technology, app development, e- commerce, construction of primary health centres, clinics, hospitals and wellness centres in the South East; sponsorship of organised farmers to encourage employment and food production; sponsorship of conscious Igbo upcoming artists to reach stardom, strong support to reputable Igbo judges and lawyers to be appointed at the Federal Courts; relating with each other in setting up manufacturing industries in the South East, which will create employments.

From the light of the above, who would ever believe that this powerful social club was formed early this year? As High Chief Mike Ejiogu and members of the Akuluno United Brothers’ Association continue to solidify the leadership landscape of the organisation as it witnesses a quick transformative shift, marked by burgeoning ties with the different multi- billion Naira companies owned by her membership as intending members from the South East and across the country have shown keen interest to joining the pan- Igbo socio- cultural Billionaires’ Club.

Chief Ejiogu’s proactive leadership of Akuluno United Brothers’ Association and engagement of the members, signals a strategic pivot towards repositioning the social club while attracting investments and bolstering of the South East’s fiscal resilience.

The epoch making inaugural meeting of Akuluno United Brothers’ Association in Akwa Ibom State ended in an atmosphere of social conviviality with a renewed friendship, and a more strengthened Igbo brotherhood as members of the powerful social club were conveyed back home in Abuja and Lagos on the same private jet.
