THE Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun has charged the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone D, South West and its arm at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) to support the campaign against corruption and other vices in the course of their studentship in their various campuses.

Amosun made the call during the presentation of a twin award of excellence by NANS/TASUED to the governor as the Most Outstanding Governor in South West at the Governor’s Office Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

While receiving the awards on behalf of the governor, the state Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga appreciated the students’ executives for the honour, while imploring them to join the campaign against corruption, cultism and other social vices, noting that they are the future leaders.

“I want everyone of you to join the crusade against corruption, cultism and other vices and be very much alive to your responsibilities in your various campuses,” Amosun said.

The governor added that the present administration would continue to support and be responsive to student union plights, adding that the school fees of tertiary institutions have been stabilised in recent times. He maintained that bursaries and subventions were being paid as at when due while model schools were being set up across the three senatorial districts in the state to upgrade the educational sector.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected student executives in the zone, the coordinator, Comrade Ogunsola Okikiola thanked the governor for his support and outstanding leadership quality.

He said the award was in recognition of the governor’s achievement and contributions towards the upliftment of the student union movement in the zone
