Bishops link South-East insecurity to restiveness, cultism, idolatry

The Pentecostal Bishops Association of Anambra State (PBAAS) has attributed the security challenges in the South-East to youth restiveness, cultism and other idolatry practices at the expense of following Christian beliefs and worship.

The state Chairman of the Pentecostals Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Moses Ezedebego, who addressed the clerics during the yearly PBAAS convocation in Awka, the state capital, on the theme, ‘Wind of Change,’ said that youth restiveness persists because of the their perception of marginalisation, as well as inequitable allocation and distribution of national resources.

He, however, cautioned against the use of kidnapping and killing to settle scores. Ezedebego advised against condemnation of the state and federal governments over perceived failures amid wide-spread poverty, hardship and security challenges, which, he said, will not last forever.

Also speaking, the Executive President of the association, Bishop Augustine Nwodika, pleaded with parents, especially the fathers, to be more active in church activities, creating time for their children at home.
