A woman wanted in connection with a March murder in the US was arrested after commenting on the police department’s Facebook post asking about her reward money. Tulsa Police Department in Oklahoma posted a couple of images of Lorraine Graves, 24, on Facebook as part of their “Weekly Most Wanted” campaign. “Where’s the reward money at?” Lorraine commented on the post. Lorraine was subsequently arrested the next day after detectives were able to track her down in a home in north Tulsa. Bond was set at $500,000. “Pinky, are you thinking what I am thinking?”
Say No to cyber-bullying
“Beasts Of No Nation” actor, Idris Elba has suggested that social media platforms make it mandatory for people to identify themselves properly before creating an account. The British actor made this statement on his Instagram page in light of the recent spate of trolling and racial abuse on social media. “If cowards are being supported by a veil of privacy and secrecy, then social media is not a safe space. It is an aeroplane that allows travellers to wear balaclavas.” Elba concluded that “if cowards want to spout racial rhetoric then say it with your name, not your username.” And you know what? This is a valid proposition.
Broken
A court has ordered Dr Dre to pay his ex-wife, Nicole Young, almost $300,000 every month in spousal support amid the divorce judgement. The sum, $293,306, is due on the first of every month and kicks off on August 1. According to a court document, Dre will pay a total of $3,519,672 per year until Nicole remarries or “enters into a new domestic partnership.” He is reportedly also responsible for paying Nicole’s health insurance and other fees, including “the expenses for the Malibu, and Pacific Palisades homes.” They had been married since 1996 but are divorcing on the terms of irreconcilable differences.
Money matters?
Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, Worldwide (aka Winners Chapel) finally broke his silence on the scandal which has set tongues wagging. A few days ago, the internet went agog after about 40 ministers were relieved of their duties as pastors of his church for bringing in low income. In a video that has now gone viral, he responded, “we asked you to go because you are unfruitful… we have no patience with failure here”. Still speaking, he explained that the church has over 7000 employed workers, and they have not owned any salaries and are “enjoying an open heaven.” Speaking about money, he said that his church is “hunting after souls”.
