The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, Ekiti State chapter, has condemned what it called series of coordinated media attacks targeted at the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and his predecessors, Asiwaju Segun Oni and Otunba Niyi Adebayo in the last few days.

In a joint statement by the group consisting of 21 political parties and signed by its Chairman and Public Relations Officer, Prince Tunji Ogunlola and Prince Ayo Adelabu, at the end of an emergency meeting, the association condemned what it called “a coordinated media campaign of calumny” to paint the former governors black to undermine their political standings in the state.

“The most virulent of these attacks in form of hate write-ups have been directed more on the person of Dr. Kayode Fayemi . We noticed that the frequency of media attacks on Fayemi increased after he appeared in a media picture with the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari; Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and Mr. Garba Shehu while Buhari was receiving former British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair”‎ the group said.
