Delta Federations Cup draws hold in Warri

THE draws for the 2015 Federations Cup in Delta State will come up Friday at the Conference Hall of Warri City Stadium.

Newly elected chairman of Delta FA, former Super Eagles’ captain, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, dropped the hint at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, on his way to London for the capacity building programme package sponsored by Taleveras Foundation in partnership with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

According to the programme of events released Wednesday by DFA Secretary, Mr. Friday Onothoja, four venues, Jay-Jay Okocha Stadium Ogwashi-Uku, Otu-Jeremi, Oleh and Ughelli Township Stadium will hold matches during the competition.

Onothoja further revealed that this is the 16th year of Ecobank’s sponsorship of Delta FA Cup, a partnership he described as the longest, not only in Nigerian FA history, but also in Africa south of the Sahara.

He said: “Ecobank, no doubt, is a responsible financial institution that does not pay lip services to its corporate social responsibility. The youths and football loving Nigerians, especially those in Delta State, hold the bank in high esteem.”
