• Hand over to Tinubu to avoid constitutional crisis, Ajakaiye tells Buhari
• Aniagwu seeks judgment on election matters before swearing in of new govt

As the Catholic Church all over the world marked 57th World Day of Social Communication, journalists and other media enthusiasts have been urged report truthfully, notwithstanding persecution and rejection.

Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Revd. Emmanuel Badejo, gave the charge, yesterday, in his message entitled: “Secure the Future.”

He also called on media practitioners to promote family cohesion and harmony for a better Nigeria and the world.

He described the family in Africa as “the nursery of all good virtues: truthfulness, charity, courage, compassion and selflessness.”

SIMILARLY, Catholic Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Most Revd. Felix Femi Ajakaiye, yesterday, said that President Muhammadu Buhari must handover on May 29, 2023 and leave office for another elected President according to the Constitution.

He said that the call for suspension of the inauguration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, could lead to a constitutional crisis.

Ajakaiye gave the charge in his homily during a service to mark the Communication Day, held at St. Patrick Cathedral, Ado-Ekiti.

MEANWHILE, the Vicar General, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Rt. Rev. Msgr. John K. A. Aniagwu, has called on the Supreme Court to decide the legitimate winner of the 2023 presidential election before a new government is sworn in.

He made the call, yesterday, in Lagos.

Aniagwu said contrary to those calling for the country to move on in election matters, Nigerians cannot move on without justice, saying that peace without justice is peace of the graveyard.

He, therefore, advised judges handling the case to do so with the fear of God and deliver judgment that they can defend and be proud of.
