Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has expressed shock, sadness and a deep sense of loss over the death of its dedicated member, Emmanuel Yawe.

Described as the editor’s editor, trainer and mentor, Yawe was the National Publicity Secretary of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) until he passed in his sleep on Thursday, March 10, 2022.

A statement signed by NGE President, Mustapha Isah, and General Secretary, Iyobosa Uwugiaren, recalled that Yawe remained a committed member of the guild, even after several years of retiring from public service.

MEANWHILE, Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu, has appealed to journalists in the country to be objectives in their reportage, to maintain peace and unity.

Making the appeal during the opening of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Presidential Hall, Birnin Kebbi, thanked members of NUJ for hosting the NEC in the state, assuring them of his government’s commitment towards the union.

NUJ President, Chief Chris Isiguzo, charged journalists to desist from propagating fake news in society, asserting that fake news works against the country’s unity.

Isiguzo expressed dismay over the recent attacks in parts of the country, especially the North West, urging the Federal Government to support the displaced persons to resettle.
