Ekiti governor appoints another set of 110 aides after initial 162

Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of over 110 Special Assistants (SAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and Technical Advisors (TAs).

The Governor had earlier on November 2023, appointed no fewer than 162 aides including 79 senior special assistants (SSAs), 73 special assistants (SAs), and 10 technical advisors (TAs)

The Special Adviser Media to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode had in a statement said that the new appointment, which took effect on January 1, 2024 was the first of the two batches to be rolled out.

However, Oyebode, in another statement said the new set of appointments into the strategic positions was part of plans to position Oyebanji administration for optimal service delivery.


The appointees which included 64 Special Assistants, 45 Senior Special Assistants and six Technichal Advisers, also included three SA’s on Entertainment, two SA’s on Public Enlightenment, four SA’s on Domestic Affairs and six SA’s Governor’s Office.

Others included SA on Transport (Motorcycle); SA on Special Groups. SA on Special Interest Groups SA on Livestock Development, SA on Grassroot Engagement, SSA on IPAC and SSA on Christian Religion Affairs.

Others included SA on Hausa, SA on Urhobo; SA on Photography & Documentation; SSA on Community Outreach; SSA on Political Surveillance;


However, the newly appointed Technical Advisors included Dr. Olusola Osetoba, TA on Sports Development; Pastor Odunayo Kayode, TA on OTSD; Olubunmi Omotayo Nelson, TA on Special Duties; Dr. Oni Abimbola Ibidun, TA on Entrepreneurship Development; Akogun Tai Oguntayo, TA on Public Communication (Political) and Mr. Adetunji Stephen, TA on Local Govt Affairs (Project Monitoring and Evaluation).

Oyebode added that all appointees should resume office by May 1, 2024.

While congratulating the new appointees, Oyebanji urged them to demonstrate highest standards of professional and ethical conduct in the discharge of their respective duties.
