The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) won the Outstanding Achievement Consumer Education Awards at a ceremony which took place in Sydney, Australia.


On Tuesday night, FCCPC made this information public through a formal statement posted to its Twitter account along with a picture of the award.

“Winning the Outstanding Achievement Consumer Education Awards today at the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) annual conference in Sydney, Australia, is a testament to FCCPC’s commitment to promoting choice and ensuring fairness.

“We will keep striving to make a positive impact on the lives of consumers,” the FCCPC tweeted.

The ICPEN formerly known as the International Marketing Supervision Network (IMSN) is a global network of more than 70 consumer protection authorities.


It engages in dispute resolution and encourages cooperation between law enforcement agencies for disputes arising from commerce across international borders.

Meanwhile, the FCCPC formerly known as the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) is the leading competition & consumer protection agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Its purpose is to develop and promote fair, efficient and competitive markets in the Nigerian economy and to also facilitate access by all citizens to safe products and secure the protection of rights for all consumers in Nigeria.

The agency operates within the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment (FMITI).
