Food and beverage company, CWay, yesterday, donated 50 booths to the Lagos State Police Command to support its officers on traffic duties.Speaking during the donation, Deputy Marketing Director, Samuel Akinrimisi, pledged more support to the command, in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

He said the company recognised that providing equipment that ensures good policing should not be left to the government alone.

“This is about CSR that showcases the CWay group as a company that is committed to ensuring security, safety and shelter of traffic wardens within the Nigeria Police Force.

“We chose security this time because security is number one. If you check the budget of Nigeria, security is a major thing. When there is no security, there will be no schooling. There will be turmoil everywhere.

“So, CWay is ensuring that we support the government. The government can’t do it alone. And as a business, we make our money here, and it’s also important that we give back to the society which has been very gracious to us,” Akinrimisi said.

Calling for a symbiotic relationship between brands, communities and the police, he said: “The 50 traffic booths are to take care of the officers controlling traffic. We will be refreshing them from time to time. We are making sure that we give the required safety equipment to the officers.” Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, appreciated CWay and urged more support for the police.
