Foremost Muslim organisations and commissions in Nigeria have expressed shock and sent their condolence to families of the auto crash that occurred on Wednesday, December 28, at Shagamu-Benin expressway.

In a statement, Federation of Muslim Women association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) State Amira, Hajia Serifat Ajagbe, prayed for the repose of the deceased and the injured.

“We grieve with the entire Muslim Ummah over the death of our Sisters who answered the supreme call of Allah while going for an Islamic program. Alhamdulilah, they were Muslims and died in the cause of Allah as Muslims. SubhanaLlah! Who are we to question Allah?

“We pray for the quick recovery of the injured sisters, who are now receiving treatment in the hospital. The entire FOMWAN Lagos beseech Allah to continue to strengthen our sisters at Al-Muminaat and the entire Muslim Ummah. May Allah forgive the departed souls, expand their graves and accept their return. Grant them Jannatul firdaus, Allahuma Ameen.

The B-Zone chapter of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, (MSSN), through its Amir, Barr. Qaasim Odedeji, expressed grieve over the sad occurrence and prayed for the deceased and the injured.

In a statement, he said, “on behalf of myself and the entire members of MSSN B-ZONE, I commiserate with the leadership of The Muslim Congress and Al-Mu’minaat on the sad event of the death of some of their members on their way to Al-Mu’minaat camping programme.

“We are devastated by this occurrence, as it is not only a big loss to us a Muslim organisation, but also to all of us as Muslim ummah in Nigeria. I pray Allah forgives the deceased of their shortcomings and admit them to paradise. I pray that Allah also gives the injured quick recovery. May Allah grant the organisation, the friends and families as well as the Muslim ummah in Nigeria the fortitude to bear the loss.”

The Amir of MSSNLagos, Miftahudeen Thanni, who led a delegation to attend the burial, commiserated with the families of the deceased, Al-Mu’minaat (The believing women) and the generality of Muslims.

According to him, “we grieve with our mothers, sisters at Al-Mu’minaat and the Nigerian Muslim communities at this trying time over the auto-accident that killed some Muslim women on the road travelling for the yearly Islamic training exercise in Ijebu-Ode.

“They were striving to earn paradise, but they died in the process. It is our belief that they are inmates of paradise at the moment. These are women who have worked so hard to build an ideal society, train responsible youths and keep the flag of Islam flying.” He said.

The National Hajj Commission, NAHCON, also joined in commiserating with the Muslim Congress, Al-Mu’minaat and the entire Muslims on the sad event of the death of beloved sisters, who died on their way to the Islamic vacation training in Shagamu, Ogun State.

In a statement signed by the Chairman/CEO, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan, the commission said it’s devastated by the sad news, adding, “we take solace in the fact they died as martyrs and whom the Almighty Allah has promised aljanatul firdaus. Ameen.”

According to the NAHCON Chairman, “I beseech Almighty Allah to forgive our beloved sisters and elevate their stations among those who are guided, send them along the path of those who came before and forgive them all. Lord of the worlds, enlarge for them their graves and shed light upon them in aljanat. Ameen”

The Muslim Public Affairs Center (MPAC) Nigeria, also condoled Al-Mu’minaat on the loss of its members in the tragic accident, saying that the community shall always remember their last deeds as “acts of worship, dedication to Allah and knowledge, and selfless service to the community.”

The Muslim rights organisation also prayed for the quick and complete recovery of the survivors who are receiving treatment at different orthopedic hospitals in Lagos.

The Executive Director of the Group, Mal. Disu Kamor said, “My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the sisters involved in the tragic accident and members of Al-Mu’minaat.

National president of the Muslim media body, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, recalled that some of the members of MMPN in Lagos State were recognised with Media Excellence Awards by the female organisation earlier on Wednesday during their Convention at Vanguards Academy, Ijẹbu Ode, before the unfortunate incident.

According to him, “we see this sad and unfortunate incident as a trial from Allah and we accept it in good faith as all souls will definitely return to the Creator, Allah SWT, at the appointed time.

“We pray Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the Al-Mu’minaat sisters, who died in His cause, and other dead Muslims, restore the health of those injured, console the families and the entire Muslim ummah in the best form and make the deceased inheritors of al-janah firdaus. Aamin.

In a press statement issued by MMPN Lagos, the chairman, Dr Kabir Alabi Garba, said the news of the incident was devastating, adding that it is a huge loss to the Muslim ummah in Nigeria.

Garba said: “The executives of MMPN and entire Muslim journalists in the state commiserate with the leadership of Al-Mu’minaat, family members and their loved ones. We beseech Allah to forgive their sins and admit them into Aljanah firdaus.

“We also pray Allah to give the family of the deceased the strength to bear the huge loss.”The Ogun State chapter of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), through its chairman, Ustadh Jimoh Tajudeen Alao also mourned the passing of the members of Al-Mu’minaat who died on the path of Allah.

“We commiserate with the entire Muslim Ummah and most importantly, The Muslims Congress on the loss of our sisters and mothers who answered the call of Allah on their way to Al-Mu’minaat’s camping programme. But we take solace in the knowledge that they died in the cause of Allah.
“ We pray Allah (S.W.T) to grant their families succour, strengthen The Muslim Congress, and give the entire Muslim ummah the fortitude to bear the loss.”

The National Secretariat of the Muslim Association of Visually Impaired of Nigeria (MAVIN), on behalf of its entire members, joins the Muslim community in Nigeria to condole with Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women) as they mourn the tragic death of seven of their members, along with two children, in a fatal lone accident on the Lagos-Benin expressway, on Wednesday, December, 28, 2022.

This is no doubt a sad incident and indeed, a big loss to the Muslim Ummah, but we are confident that their shocking and painful passage is a glorious one because they met their Lord in the cause of His mission.
