Foundation to train 1,000 teachers in three states

Bunmi Adedayo Foundation

The Bunmi Adedayo Foundation has launched a subject-enhancement programme aimed at training 1,000 mathematics teachers in Ogun, Osun and Delta states.


The training is focused on equipping teachers with essential knowledge and skills to perform efficiently and optimally in the classroom.

The initiative is in partnership with the three-state governments, their Ministries of Education Science and Technology and State’s Universal Basic Education Boards.

The first edition of the programme was held at Abeokuta Grammar School, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, with 350 teachers participating from both public and private primary schools in Ogun state.

At the opening of the event, Deputy Governor, Ogun State, Naimot Salako, emphasised the importaance of retraining teachers to keep up with technological advancements that drive all aspects of lives.

Executive Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, commended the foundation for supporting the state government’s efforts in training teachers for effective performance.

He also noted that the training would provide opportunities for teachers to enhance their teaching skills and knowle, while urging participants to pass on their newly acquired knowledge to their colleagues.

Executive Director, Bunmi Adedayo Foundation, Olukemi Odedeyi, expressed appreciation to the state government for giving the foundation the platform to train teachers.

She highlighted the foundation’s aim to develop 21st-century competent primary school teachers through immersive and multi-modal training programmes.

While alluding special appreciation to members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, Mr. and Mrs. Adedayo, for their unflinching support of the programme, Odedeyi revealed that the foundation is a legacy of the Late Bunmi Adedayo, who in his lifetime was an advocate for quality education.
