Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has vowed to continue to do things that would make Rivers people proud despite the distraction and resistance by some perceived political detractors in the state.

The governor said that his administration and its team would not be intimidated, but would remain focused on providing quality services for the people of the state.

The governor warned those allegedly disrespecting him, especially, council chairmen and political appointees, who are loyal to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to note that they are already digging their political graves.

Fubara spoke, yesterday, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Council of the state, while commissioning a Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Centre in Ndoni, donated by the PAMO Educational Foundation, founded by former Governor of the state, Dr. Peter Odili, and his wife, retired Justice Mary Odili.

Fubara said: “Let me say it here that any of you who is disrespecting me is already digging his political pit. You will fall inside it. Our minds are open, and we do not wish anybody bad, but we expect you to do what is right.

“For those of you who have decided to take that path you think leads to your destination, I wish you a safe journey. Fubara and his team will continue to take that course that God has given us; we’ll flow in a direction that your resistance won’t matter to us. We will flow in a direction that will lead to our destination, and we’ll make our people proud.

“They said that we are clueless; if providing quality education, healthcare, and targeting critical projects is being clueless, we agree with them; but we’ll not do roads to please somebody. We’ll do those things that everyone would benefit from. We will ensure that those critical issues that will benefit our people in this critical time are addressed.”

Fubara commended Odili for giving back to the community through the project, urging the community to take ownership of the facility.

The governor said that executing projects that impact the lives of the people is the most dedicated thing anyone who claims that he loves his community, the state and God can do.
