As part of the ongoing effort to reposition the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nation Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has beckoned on the Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf to dump the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and join the APC.
Speaking at a stakeholders parley in Kano, he explained that the state can not afford to be in an opposition party.
The APC position comes against the backdrop of the Supreme Court decision, which upheld Yusuf’s victory at the last year’s governorship poll.
It was learnt that Ganduje is in Kano at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconcile his differences with the former governor of the state and NNPP national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The rapprochement is part of an ongoing effort to prepare the ground for a smooth sail for Tinubu in Kano State in his reelection bid in the 2027 poll.
