Governor Eno hosts past, current Akwa Ibom NASS members in historic night of unity

Governor Umo Eno hosted past and current members of the National Assembly of Akwa Ibom descent in Uyo.

In a historic gathering, current and former National Assembly members from Akwa Ibom State came together at the Government House in Uyo for a night of unity, demonstrating a strong Pan-Akwa Ibom spirit.


The event, which transcended political lines, saw a collective commitment to supporting the State Governor, Umo Eno, in his efforts to advance the development of the state.

The assembly of political leaders from various backgrounds and parties signaled a shift towards a more unified and inclusive approach to governance. The focus was on building bridges and embracing bipartisan collaboration to address the challenges and opportunities facing Akwa Ibom State.

The Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, set the tone by highlighting Governor Eno’s commitment to inclusivity and his efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the vulnerable through his “Arise Agenda.”

The Governor expressed his gratitude for the display of unity and stressed the importance of focusing on what brings the state together rather than what separates it. He emphasized his vision of a government that employs qualified Akwa Ibomites regardless of party affiliation.


Governor Eno also reiterated his commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and working harmoniously with the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to foster development in Akwa Ibom State.

The night was marked by stirring speeches from various leaders, including the Honourable Minister of Petroleum, Gas, Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, who emphasized the significance of purposeful governance and assured the Governor of the Senate President’s support.

Other prominent figures at the event included distinguished Senators Ita Enang, Helen Esuene, Ekong Sampson, Effiong Bob, and Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, among others.

The gathering celebrated the spirit of unity and shared a symbolic cake-cutting to solidify their commitment to working together.

The gathering was a step toward fostering a more collaborative political environment, where development takes precedence over party politics. It showcased the potential for Akwa Ibom State to reach new heights through collective effort and unity among its leaders and stakeholders.
