Group plans 10-day sit-out over country’s challenges

A non-governmental and political group, Naija Connect, has announced the launch of a 10-day sit-out in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to brainstorm solutions to the challenges plaguing the nation.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja at the weekend, the convener of the group, Iretidola Ojekhoa, said the project was aimed at igniting the flame of hope, courage, and proactive engagement among Nigerians, empowering them to shape the destiny of the country.

She said: “In the tapestry of Nigeria’s rich diversity lies a nation teeming with promise and potential. Nigeria is endowed with abundant natural resources and a vibrant tapestry of over 500 languages spoken by its multi-ethnic populace. Nigeria stands as a beacon of hope on the African continent.

“However, beneath this veneer of prosperity lies a stark reality: Nigerians grapple with a myriad of challenges that threaten to stifle progress and prosperity.

“From the bustling markets of Lagos to the rural communities of the Niger Delta, citizens face daily struggles with economic instability, insecurity, food shortages.”
