Group tasks Soludo on transition committee report

Civil society groups under the platform of Open Alliance Anambra Civil Society Network, have urged Anambra State Governor-elect, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, to publish the report of the Oby Ezekwesili transition committee.

In a statement issued yesterday by Coordinator of the group, Prince Chris Azor, it noted that making the report public was the best way to ensure participatory open governance, even ahead of his inauguration, this month.

Azor, who doubles as the Co-Chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in the state, commended the committee for a good job and timely submission.

He also commended the in-coming Anambra State Governor for establishing the Anambra Talent Data Bank. He said: “This is in line with his vision to build a livable and prosperous Mega City, as well as a preferred destination to live, work, learn, relax and enjoy. He is, therefore, expected to make public the committee’s report in line with the principles of open governance.

The document, which the Transition Committee described as an Action Plan for good governance, when in public domain would form a basis for citizen engagement with the new administration.”

He urged the governor-elect to continue with the OGP policy, which the outgoing governor signed up in June 2017 that had attracted several development projects to the state.
