The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN), yesterday, stressed the need for a robust partnership between the public and private sectors in Nigeria’s healthcare industry.

It, therefore, announced its 2024 yearly general meeting and conference aimed at addressing long-standing challenges of fragmentation in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

The conference, which is set to hold on February 8 and 9, 2024, with the theme: “Bridging the Gap: Public-Private Integration as a Catalyst for Sustainable Growth,” aimed at promoting collaboration between public and private sectors.

President of HFN, Dr Pamela Ajayi, who spoke during a media briefing in Lagos, emphasised the urgent need for a unified approach.

“While 70 per cent of healthcare delivery is managed by private entities, the integration between the two sectors has been noticeably lacking,” she said.

She further said that key personalities, including the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Special Adviser to the President on Health and Governor of Lagos State would deliver news and updates at the event.

Vice President of HFN, NjideNdili, described the yearly stakeholders’ conference as a crucial platform where top leaders, policymakers and industry experts converge to discuss, analyse and propose solutions to healthcare system issues in Nigeria.

Co-chair of the Planning Committee, Ikenna Nwosu, added that the conference would feature a two-day exhibition, opening with an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and a high-powered gala dinner.

He added that the former Minister of Health, Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, would chair a gala dinner, joined by the current Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, special guests and other top officials.
