Army Forces Support Group, # Prayer And Support The Nigerian Armed Forces And Other Security Agencies, has extolled the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, on his 57th birthday anniversary and dedication in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.

Convener of the group, Mary Abayomi Fatile, in a statement, yesterday, said since his assumption in office as the Naval chief of staff, Gambo has demonstrated selflessness and an unmatched dedication in discharging his responsibilities, producing glaring results in the nation’s maritime domain.

She noted that the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Development, Ms. Hillary Benn, had in a recent interview, said celebrating a man with determination to reduce piracy, which denies economic saboteurs the lure way to siphon the benefits of the nation’s wealth, of billions of Naira weekly, is worthy of note.

“The CNS has drastically curbed the insecurity in the nation’s waterways by enhancing surveillance of the maritime domain, introduction of drones, deployment of helicopters to patrol the creeks and placing Falcon Eye surveillance facilities to monitor the territorial waterways up to the corridor of the Gulf of Guinea.”

The convener congratulated him on his 57th birthday and his achievement on the positive reduction of activities of pirates and other transnational organised crimes, thereby resulting in a positive global assessment of Nigeria.

While celebrating the CNS’s impactful years of living, she prayed for more wisdom for him to move the navy beyond where it is and wish him more years in good health.
