The Iwo Traditional Council under the headship of the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commended Osun State Governor, Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, over various projects inaugurated to mark his 100 days in office.
The council described Adeleke as God send to the good people of Osun, saying that his governance has brought hope to the people through road construction, borehole drilling, free medical outreach, rural electrification, insurance scheme and payment of salary arrears.
The council, however, appealed to the governor to repeal the Executive Order on selected monarchs that have been denied their entitlements.
The appeal was contained in a communique issued by the council shortly after its monthly meeting at the Oluwo’s palace in Iwo, Osun State.
“We call on the governor to suspend his Executive Order on some monarchs. The order is tantamount to slowing down the monarchical administration of the affected cities. We appeal to Adeleke to return the full paraphernalia of kingship and honour to Iwo Traditional Council.
MEANWHILE, Adeleke has urged road users to be cautious while travelling on the ongoing dualised Osogbo-Ila-Odo Road project to avoid road mishap.
The governor, who gave the advice, yesterday, at Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Council while commissioning 10.5km of the road portion as part of activities marking his 100 days in office, said that his intervention on the project was part of the electoral promises to ensure completion of good projects by his predecessors.
The governor said that the project, when completed, would enhance development.
