The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Mr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, has implored staff of the agency to be professional in discharging their duty of emergency management and ensuring safety of lives and property.

Speaking, yesterday, at the opening ceremony of the 2024 LASEMA staff retreat, Oke-Osanyintolu asked staff of the agency to key into what Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has put in place and to see their assignment as a privilege, handling the golden hour in Lagos State.

“And to always remember, their scorecard is in the hands of the good people of Lagos State. So, they must be dedicated, they must ensure that all what they are doing is professionally done.

“To realize that people are looking at them and there are expectations, and to whom much is given, much is expected.” According to him, the retreat is mainly to charge and re-energise the team. “This is year 2024; we need to get feedback from them, to change our weakness to strength, to be more aggressive in what we are doing, and to pass the message of the Governor.

We need to ensure safety of life and property, and while we are doing that, we need to train our people and to inform them that the Governor cares for them.”

Some of the topics treated at the retreat include work place etiquettes, attitudinal change as tool for improved productivity, operation safety, prioritising mental health and achieving work balance. One of the participants, Moses Okebadan thanked the management for organizing the retreat as he has been fired up to perform better.
