NUC grants MCIU full accreditation for all programmes

Michael and Cecilia Ibru University
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved all academic programmes of the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Agbara-Otor, Delta State.

In a letter sent to the proprietors by the NUC, the regulatory body said all the five programmes presented to it by the university during last November/December accreditation evaluation exercise were successful.

The breakdown showed that in addition to the programmes’ outstanding test results, Public Administration, Law, Software Engineering, Mass Communication, and Political Science programmes each obtained full accreditation.

Recall that the university got full accreditation in 2019 when NUC approved all nine of its academic programmes and named the school one of the best in the country.

The university also placed second among private institutions in the South-South in 2021 when the NUC ranked universities using 12 criteria. It also placed third in efficiency, third in capital H-index, and third in knowledge economy.

The full accreditation status is valid for five years, according to the letter by NUC’s Deputy Director of Programme Accreditation, Mr S.S. Ikani.
