Ogun to host international trade fair

As the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair draws near, excitement has built up among stakeholders, as they get set to storm Abeokuta for the yearly event.

The trade fair, which will be held from April 19-29, 2024 at the Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (M.K.O.) Abiola International Trade Fair Complex in Abeokuta, will feature an increased number of exhibitors and products as well as a more effective transportation system to ease the movement of visitors to the complex.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Special Adviser to the Governor on Industry, Oluyemisi Somorin-Dawodu, said preparation was underway to welcome participants to the trade fair.

Somorin-Dawodu, while speaking with journalists on the trade fair, said that this year’s trade fair was more than just the exhibition of products, adding that a lot of other economic and trade-related activities had been lined up to make the experience worthwhile for participants coming from different states.

She said that innovation introduced into the event this year was generating excitement among stakeholders as the date drew near.

Besides, the special adviser said that the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), which organises the yearly trade fair and the Ogun State Government were working round the clock to give participants an unforgettable experience.

“We decided to make the fair bigger and better. We have also introduced a raffle draw that will help to bring more people to the trade fair, and there will be daily prizes.

Also speaking, OGUNCCIMA President, Mike Akingbade, said more participants were being expected at the trade fair, as a result of the new things introduced by the state government.

“I can tell you that we are working happily towards holding a better-improved trade fair,” he said.
