Ologbondiyan woos Kogi for Atiku as group donates buses

Spokesman for Atiku/Okowa Campaign Organisation, Kola Ologbondiyan, has called on the people of Kogi State to troop out on Saturday to welcome the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate to the state.

This was as Adamu Mahmoud Atta Support Group (AMASG) donated 11 buses to the Atiku/Okowa PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Kogi to assist the party prosecute the general elections.

Addressing newsmen in Lokoja, yesterday, the former National Publicity Secretary of PDP said the mega rally, which will hold at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, was to showcase the party’s presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, as the best team to rescue the country from eight years of misrule.

Kogi, according to him, has been a PDP state and will remain so, stressing that there is a great difference between when PDP was in power and now, as the people are wallowing in excruciating poverty despite the huge allocations accruing to the state.

Of all the candidates jostling for the presidency, he described Atiku as the most prepared, with a comprehensive blueprint to tackle the country’s problems and make it a pride to all Nigerians.

Receiving the vehicles from the support group, the Director General, PDP PCC in Kogi, Yomi Awoniyi, assured that the PDP would win the elections.

Awoniyi, who was deputy to former Governor Idris Wada, thanked the promoter of AMASG, Mahmoud Atta, for his concern and commitment to the PDP, promising to utilise the vehicles for effective electioneering.

He called on Kogi people to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), which is the only weapon to exercise their franchise.

Meanwhile, zonal and local council coordinators have been formally inaugurated to mobilise the electorate to vote en masse for all PDP candidates.

While inaugurating the coordinators in Lokoja, yesterday, Director General AMASG, Sam Abenemi, charged them to double their efforts to guarantee landslide victory for the party.

Abenemi disclosed AMASG as different from other support groups, due to its active mobilisation of the grassroots.

He assured the coordinators of equal opportunity in the party; hence, their commitment to the task of galvanising votes for the party should be sacrosanct.
