Oyebanji appoints 110 new aides, SAs on entertainment, Hausa, Urhobo, others

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of over 110 Special Assistants (SAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Technical Advisors (TAs).

The governor had in November 2023 appointed no fewer than 162 aides. Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Yinka Oyebode, had in a statement, said that the appointments, which took effect on January 1, 2024, were the first of the two batches to be rolled out.

However, in another statement by Oyebode, the new set of appointments was part of plans to position Oyebanji’s administration for optimal service delivery.

The appointees, which include 64 Special Assistants, 45 Senior Special Assistants and six Technical Advisers, also included three SAs on Entertainment, two SAs on Public Enlightenment, four SAs on Domestic Affairs and six SAs in the Governor’s Office, SA on Transport (Motorcycle), SA on Special Groups, SA on Special Interest Groups, SA on Livestock Development, among others.


SA on Grassroots Engagement, SSA on IPAC and SSA on Christian Religion Affairs. The rest include SA on Hausa, SA on Urhobo, SA on Photography & Documentation, SSA on Community Outreach and SSA on Political Surveillance.

However, the newly-appointed Technical Advisors included Dr Olusola Osetoba (Sports Development), Odunayo Kayode (OTSD), Olubunmi Omotayo Nelson (Special Duties), Dr Oni Abimbola Ibidun (Entrepreneurship Development), Tai Oguntayo (Public Communication, Political) and Adetunji Stephen (Local Government Affairs, Project Monitoring and Evaluation).

The statement added that all appointees should resume office by May 1, 2024. The governor, while congratulating the new appointees, urged them to demonstrate the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct in the discharge of their respective duties.
