Ramadan feeding: Yusuf accuses Kano committee of mismanaging N6billion

Kano State governor Abba Yusuf on a visit to one of the centres for Ramadan Feeding Programme.

Kano State governor Abba Yusuf has expressed dissatisfaction at the execution Ramadan Feeding Programme organised by the government.

Yusuf alleged mismanagement of resources earmarked for the annual feeding of less privilege in the holy month of Ramadan.

Spokesperson to the governor Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in a statement said Yusuf raised the concern during unscheduled inspection to one of the feeding centers in the metropolis.

Tofa said “The governor was disappointed with the program during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government area.


“Governor Yusuf also conveyed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the program handlers, whom he believes are depriving the intended beneficiaries.

“We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources. It is imperative to note that the allocated funds for this initiative are meticulously documented at each centre,” Yusuf said.

Tofa revealed that Yusuf decided to embark on the inspection following intelligence reports implying deficiencies in the management of the feeding programme at various centres across the metropolis.
