Saraki, Abayomi task private sector on investment in healthcare

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi have urged the private sector to collaborate with the government in the area of institutionalizing health delivery system for the aged.

Both commended the Medical Director and Founder, JBS Gerontology Centre, Dr. Toyin Akande Ajala at the official commissioning and groundbreaking ceremony of the centre in Lekki, Lagos for leading the private sector to make available a hospital and special centre for older adults in Nigeria.

Saraki said it was high time the government began to encourage doctors, warned that until the government allocates nothing less than 15 per cent of the nation’s budget for the health sector, which would include robust package for doctors.
