Shaibu’s spokesman dumps PDP for APC

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Philip Shaibu, the ex-deputy governor of Edo State, Musa Sunday Ebomhiana, on Saturday dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He announced his resignation in a letter to the Chairman of the PDP in Ward 5 of Etsako Central Local Government Area.

“I’m homesick. I want to go back home, the All Progressives Congress(APC), where I truly belong as a progressive democrat,” Ebomhiana said.

“Recall that as a loyal and ‘obedient servant’, I had to escort my boss, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu to the PDP in 2020. Politically, I have realised that the sojourn was leading me to nowhere. So, I’m left with no option than to retrace my steps.

“In all, I must say that my sojourn in PDP was not totally a wasted one, because a lot of political lessons have been learnt, especially the behaviorals of the average Nigerian politician.

“For me, I owe a lot of gratitude to Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, immediate past Deputy Governor of our dear Edo State. He remains my boss and my admirer. Of course, the one we fondly call Comrade, Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole, my political mentor and godfather who literarily dragged me into partisan politics.”

Political analysts suggest that Ebomhiana’s return to the APC is just one of the expected scores of defections of Shaibu’s friends and loyalists from the PDP to the APC ahead of his own formal switch over in a couple of weeks.
