A call has been made for a global effort against genocide, holocaust and similar atrocities. The call was made at an event to commemorate the killing of six million German-Jews during World War II, who fell victims to the Nazi Germany and and its collaborators.
They focused on the slogan, “Holocaust! Never Again”, emphasising the collective responsibility of governments, religious groups and various ethnic organisations to prevent recurrence of such inhumanity in the world.
According to a Nigerian-Jew, who subscribes to the campaign, Ronya Man, while holocaust is influenced by natural factors and human actions, genocide is mainly carried out by humans.
She said efforts should be made to denounce the acts as barbaric and preventing it from happening again. She called for campaigns to establish that humans are one, and that no man is superior to others.
