United States City Declares March 2nd “Burna Boy Day”

The City of Boston has officially declared March 2nd as “Burna Boy Day” to honor the renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter.

The City of Boston is the capital and most populous city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States.

This recognition comes in light of Burna Boy’s significant contributions to music and his advocacy efforts.

According to the official document, the designation acknowledges “Boston’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating culture and diversity.”

It further highlights Burna Boy’s legacy as “a reminder of possibility, reminding us to continue amplifying voices that have long been silenced or overlooked.”

This recognition comes as no surprise, considering Burna Boy’s strong connection to Boston. Since his international breakthrough in 2018, he has consistently drawn enthusiastic crowds to his sold-out shows in the city.
