Uzodimma appoints Orie to recover vehicles from sacked aides

Following the refusal of the dissolved members of the Imo State Expanded Executive Council and Chief executives of the state agencies to return official vehicles in their possession one month after they were sacked, the Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has appointed the Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Charles Orie, to apply all lawful means to recover the vehicles.

Uzodimma had, while dissolving the expanded EXCO, directed former Commissioners to hand over their official vehicles to the Permanent Secretaries in their ministries, while Special Advisers were directed to submit their official vehicles to the Office of the Chief of Staff.

The appointment of Orie was contained in a statement issued, yesterday, by the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku.

Uzodimma also directed Orie to ensure that the directive was carried out with “immediate and non-negotiable” effect, without any former appointee ignoring the order.

The statement noted: “Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has directed the Managing Director of Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Charles Orie, to take custody and do proper inventory of all official vehicles assigned to his former political appointees.”
