We’ve delivered 4,892 babies, reduced mortality, says OPM

Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere of Omega Power Ministries

Omega Power Ministries (OPM) has delivered no fewer than 4,892 babies via its free medical service.

The Guardian gathered that the development has helped to lower maternal mortality rate in some states.

Special Assistant, Special duties, to the General Overseer of the Ministries Kenneth Nwachi, explained that registration, ante-natal, drugs, scan and medical check-ups were given free to women, irrespective of their status.

He said the founder of OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, who have spent over half a billion naira to save pregnant women, established the hospital.

A statement, made available to newsmen, yesterday, noted that the initiative had saved government about N534.7m on caesarian sessions (CS) and normal deliveries.

“Today, OPM free hospital has recorded a total of 531 deliveries in Rivers and Abia states through CS, free of Charge.”

“Normal delivery in OPM hospital in Port Harcourt and Abia State today is 4,361. Remember all deliveries are free of charge. Normal delivery in hospitals cost about 80,000. If you multiply that by 4361 babies, it will give you N348,880,000.”

“There are complicated deliveries, which, at times, leads to premature delivery, which costs OPM hospital so much by putting the child on incubator.”
