Why we’re collaborating to organise international trade fair, by Oyo govt

Oyo State Government, yesterday, said it was collaborating with the state’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OYCCIMA) to organise an international trade fair in Ibadan to unleash the economic potential of the state and improve the economic well-being of the citizens.


The state’s Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Commerce, Demola Ojo, stated this during a media briefing to herald the 2024 International Trade Fair meant for entrepreneurs, inventors, creatives and others to showcase their products.

The trade fair, which will start on February 23 and end March 6, 2024, will be held at the Permanent Trade Fair Complex, Sango, Ibadan.

Ojo said Governor Seyi Makinde’s determination to improve the welfare of the citizens made him approve the trade fair.

In his remarks, President of OYCCIMA, Dr Daniel Gbadero, said that the collaboration was to enhance the economic well-being of the citizens.

Also, President of the Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Niran Adewoyin and a national leader of the Chamber, Wole Akinwande, said the trade fair would boost the economy of the state.

The Media and Publicity Chairman of the programme, Abiola Alli, said the trade fair is the way of focusing on building the local economy, which would enhance the exportation capacity of the country in general.
